in this interlude.. As President of the Interstellar Alliance now, Sheridan has made many enemies in the war with Clark. He receives a death threat by a lone gunman willing to sacrifice himself to assassinate the new President. Sheridan refuses to go into hiding and wants to proceed with an open inauguration.

Londo has a heart attack that leaves him at death's door. While unconscious and lying in Medlab, he finds himself in a dream of self awareness. In his mind he walks the corridors of Babylon 5 encountering several members of the command staff and has a conversation with each of them, a conversation he would never engage in voluntarily in the real world.

The Interstellar Alliance is in its infancy and is already about to break. Sheridan is having trouble getting the member worlds to agree to the Declaration of Principles. Claiming morality cannot be legislated, especially across many different worlds, some of the member worlds have begun border wars in an attempt to increase their empires.

This entire episode is seen from the perspective of two lowly "maintenance floaters" named Mack and Bo. Like so many people in life, these two are among the many "invisibles", people who are barely noticed among the throng of human existence. We follow them around as they perform their daily duties on just another typical day of life on Babylon 5.

Now that the war with President Clark is over, some of the fallout comes to Babylon 5 in the form of displaced criminal gangs. Zack investigates several murders in down below and finds there is a new power structure intent on ruling by terror. Two young Minbari rangers-in-training, bored with all their mental training exercises, are eager for action.

Delenn decides Londo is in need of a bodyguard and persuades G'Kar to be his personal bodyguard. Garibaldi persists in his personal investigation of Lochley. Captain Lochley is tired of all his suspicion and meddling and finally sits him down and reveals to him the connection between her and Sheridan.

Enraged by the manipulations of the Vorlons to create telepathic "weapons" to be used against the Shadows, Byron now embarks on a mission demanding a home world for telepaths. The newly formed Interstellar Alliance has resulted in more interaction between aliens at Babylon 5 as new world members join the Alliance

Captain Lochley is visited by a friend named Zoe who lived a life of drug abuse and committed suicide. And for some strange unexplained reason, Lennier is visited by Mr. Mordan who Lennier refuses to have any discourse with. This episode also guest stars Penn and Teller as a comedy team known as Rebo and Zooty.

in this The Rangers have reported a major increase in attacks on the supply ships of the member worlds of the new Interstellar Alliance. The attacks are random and the cargo has not been taken. It appears the attacks are intended to create terror and chaos, a pattern reminiscent of the Shadows' tactics.

Byron and his followers are still isolated in down below. Babylon 5 security is unable to cut their way in - due to the telepathic powers of Byron's people. With no other options available to her, Captain Lochley reluctantly calls on Bester for his help. A few of Byron's telepaths are sill in the general population and when they learn that Bester has arrived they break into an armory, steal weapons and are determined to fight to the death rather than be captured by the Psi Corp.

They threaten to kill the hostages one by one unless Byron and his people in down below are allowed to leave Babylon 5. Byron breaks out of Brown Sector and stops the telepaths from killing the hostages. He then negotiates an end to the situation with Sheridan and Lochley but Bester refuses to accept it.

G'Kar finds the entire matter distasteful and the many lost followers seeking his presence and wisdom to be an annoyance. Garibaldi has started drinking again, the result of the mind block Bester implanted in him. Garibaldi does not like being manipulated and controlled. This feeling of helplessness has driven him back to old bad habits.

For the first time we get a peek inside the Psi Corp, how they train their people, how they deal with internal problems, and how they regard themselves with respect to the non-telepathic mundanes. As a last initiation rite, one of the young recruits is to dispose of a mundane in a fashion as cold and heartless as the Bester we have come to know.

He now holds regular meetings with the Narn population where he serves as their spiritual adviser and in their eyes, the mouthpiece of God. Garibaldi's drinking is getting worse, threatening to destroy the reputation he has worked so hard for all these years. More and more he is missing meetings and appointments and is losing touch with all that is going on at Babylon 5.

lyta Alexander is desperate to find a way to make a living for her and the remaining telepath population aboard Babylon 5. No private Earth company will hire her so she turns to G'Kar. Long ago G'Kar proposed a deal to Lyta. He and his world would reward her handsomely if she provided them access to her DNA in the hopes of introducing the telepath gene back into the Narn population.

Sheridan sends Garibaldi on a mission to intercede with the Whitestar fleet if any confrontation between Centauri and Alliance ships should arise. He hopes the presence of the whitestars will be enough to deter the Centauri into retreating. Garibaldi's drinking gets the best of him and he fails at this mission Sheridan entrusted to him.

with Londo on Centauri Prime, Vir Cotto is the only representative on Babylon 5 for the Centauri. He is concerned with the fallen Centauri during all the recent battles. So far, not one Centauri body has been returned. He asks Dr. Franklin and Lyta to visit the Drazi homeworld to investigate. Back on Centauri Prime, Londo and G'Kar are still imprisoned.

The Drazi and the Narn fleets have reached Centauri Prime to find it completely defenseless. In their anger and desire for revenge they have mounted a full scale attack on military and civilian targets. Sheridan arrives on a single Whitestar and is outraged. He orders them to stop or he will order the soon to arrive Whitestar fleet to fire on them. But it may be too late. Soon the Centauri warships will return and they will not want explanations just retribution.

Lyta's funding of a movement of telepaths on Earth against the Psi Corp has been discovered and Lochley is ordered to arrest her and return her to earth. Lyta's power as a telepath has grown and now she cannot be arrested if she chooses not to. Since Sheridan was once touched by the Vorlons, he is immune to Lyta's powers and he has to step in to help with her arrest.

Dr. Franklin's contact in the old Mars resistance, Number 1 or Tessa Holloran, arrives on Bablyon 5 to inform Garibaldi and Lise Hampton-Edgars they are the targets of an assassination plot. Now that Mars has won its independence there are loose ends some of the big corporations need to clean up and Garibaldi and Lise are two of them. Sheridan is impressed with Tessa and selects her to replace Garibaldi as Head of Covert Intelligence for the Alliance.

As Sheridan, Delenn and Lennier board the ship to leave, Sheridan has the ship turn and face Babylon 5 to take one long look. On a close up of the Command and Control bridge we see the entire command staff who are now in charge of Babylon 5. As series wrap-ups go, this has got to be one of the best.

Back now on Babylon 5 for the closing ceremony, most of the original Babylon 5 principals leaves the station for the last time. The last person we see on Babylon 5 before its destruction is its creator J. Michael Straczynski switching off the lights. Now that's a way to finish a series. Makes you want to start the journey again from the very first episode.
